What is the Sales Kit?

Liferaft created the Agent Sales Kit to help agents introduce supplemental health insurance and sell specific product offerings to their clients. The Sales Kit includes multiple emails delivered in a particular cadence and succinct 1-minute videos that you can share with your clients. The Sales Kit will continue to be improved and updated as new products are released.

We designed this Sales Kit to be tactical, flexible, and easy to use. With these templates, you can easily personalize and brand all of the email templates and embedded videos. We hope to give agents numerous opportunities to engage with their clients about supplemental insurance.

Agents have made clear that they are interested in further marketing resources, and we will continue to work towards creating valuable content for you to succeed.

Email Marketing 101

Email marketing takes time to build up a strategy and see results. By sending regular emails with engaging and valuable information, brokers can hope to convert more clients in the long term.

This Sales Kit is designed to supplement an agent’s larger email marketing strategy. Agents who are excited about building a comprehensive email marketing strategy should work to create informative content that can engage their book of business outside of a hard product sell.

This can include informative and educational emails focused on topics such as: how to take advantage of federal healthcare subsidies, how to set up their new insurance plan or find a primary care doctor, ways to take advantage of covered preventative care, and other industry-related information and guidance.

Following the email cadence in the Sales Kit is a great way to engage your email list and see which products are the most interesting to your book of business.

Components of Each Template

The email templates include a personalized introduction, a short and sweet intro, a one-minute video that dives deeper into the topic, then a call to action at the end.

This structure ensures that the email is scannable and the client can immediately understand the email and how to engage further:

  • Personalized Intro
  • Short and sweet into
  • A clear way to engage through watching a video
  • A call-to-action
  • A personalized sign-off

You know your audience best, so feel free to tailor your communications! For example, some may want a longer, more personal email, while others prefer a brief note. The important thing is to stay true to your style, while keeping your audience's attention span in mind.

Some brokers have found that shorter, casual messages work best. For example, "Thought this would be great for you," with a link to the video. Others need longer-form content. Cut and add to these templates in the way that makes the most sense for your communication style.

Using the Sales Kit

On each slide of the Sales Kit, you'll find the goal, description of your intended audience, and guidelines for when to send the email based on your prior communication. On the right, you'll see an image of the email itself. Click the bottom of the screen to open a Google Doc where you can easily copy and paste the email into your email client.

In each Google Doc, you will find the suggested subject line(s), a video link, and the text of the email. Copy the content of the email and paste it into your web browser. You should personalize any orange highlighted text before sending it to your client. Next, add the subject line and customer email address, then double-check that the image is included and hyperlinked to the video, and you are good to go!

Requesting a Branded Video

Agents can also request a personalized video that includes your branding, with your company name in the title and description and your logo at the end. You can request that using this form

This cross-branding opportunity can be a valuable asset to Liferaft agents. It quickly demonstrates to your clients that you are a genuine Liferaft agent while also ensuring consistent branding for your company. Consistent branding across your communication and customer service experience helps professionalize your brand and company.

Using an Email Client

Email clients make it easy to send personalized emails to a large list of people. You can also get insights about your open rates and click rates. Depending on your price range and need, there are a variety of email clients to choose from, including Mailchimp, Hubspot, Customer.io, Constant Contact, and others.

The clients who have opened or clicked your email are likely more interested than those who haven't engaged. If you can track your email engagement, then pick up the phone or send a follow-up email to folks clicking on the content in your emails but not directly responding.

Segmenting Your List

When you segment your list, you can send specific emails to different groups of people based on their interests and eligibility. For example, the final email in the Sales Kit is focused on Liferaft's HSA product. For this email, we suggest segmenting your list only to include folks who have a high deductible plan and are eligible to open an HSA.

For all the emails included in the Sales Kit, we also recommend excluding those you have already sold supplementary plans to. Segmenting your list helps ensure that your message is relevant to the person receiving it and that you're not wasting your time messaging someone who isn't interested.
